- Vietnam PACCOM Visits Bundang Jaesaeng General Hospital
On June 3, the People’s Aid Coordinating Committee (PACCOM)—an organization under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam—visited Bundang Jaesaeng General Hospital. The delegation included Vu Ngoc Hung, who serves as Vice Chairman of the Committee for Foreign NGO Affairs (COMINGO), the supervisory body for all INGO-related matters in Vietnam, and concurrently as Vice President of VUFO (Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations), PACCOM’s parent organization; Le Thi Thu Trang, Head of PACCOM’s Asia-Pacific Department; and staff member Mai Thi Hang. They visited Korea to participate in the annual general meeting of the Korea NGO Council, which includes the Daesoon International Volunteer Association (DIVA), as well as to meet with the Daesoon Foundation for Medical Welfare and the Korean Red Cross. During their visit to Bundang Jaesaeng General Hospital, the PACCOM delegation toured the hospital’s medical facilities operated by the Daesoon Foundation for Medical Welfare and discussed plans for a medical volunteer program scheduled to take place in Lang Son Province this October.

- Governor of Tarlac Province, Philippines, Visits Yeoju Headquarters Temple
On May 20, Susan Yap, Governor of Tarlac Province in the Philippines, along with Krishna Buenaventura, Head of Provincial Planning and Development, and other delegates, visited the Yeoju Headquarters Temple Complex. Governor Yap expressed strong interest in the activities of the Daesoon International Volunteer Association (DIVA) carried out in Vietnam. She stated, “We have a deep interest in water supply projects. In the Philippines, many people are still in need, and some of them continue to drink tap water that has not been properly purified.” She added, “If DIVA could carry out its activities in Tarlac Province, we would actively provide the necessary support.” She also showed interest in the temple’s landscaping, expressing her desire to apply similar approaches to environmental development in Tarlac, further emphasizing her intention for sincere and continued exchange with Daesoon Jinrihoe. In response, President Yun Eundo said, “We will thoroughly review the project and prepare ways in which we can contribute,” adding, “We will also be glad to assist with matters related to landscaping.” Tarlac Province is located northeast of Manila and consists of 18 cities, with a population of approximately 1.37 million.

- Taiwan Shengmu Temple Visits the Yeoju Headquarters Temple
A 15-member delegation led by Palace Lord Wu Jinlian (吳錦蓮) of Taiwan’s Shengmu Temple paid a five-day visit to the Yeoju Headquarters Temple. Arriving in Korea on May 9, the delegation held a roundtable and toured the campus at Daejin University on May 10, then proceeded directly to the Daesoon Jinrihoe Yeoju Headquarters Temple to attend a welcome dinner. On the 11th, they offered respects at the temple, visited the museum, and spent time in open discussion with members of the Office of Religious Affairs. In addition, they took in the Yeoju Ceramic Festival and visited Jogyesa Temple in Seoul, before departing on the 13th. Chief Abbot Jeong Guknam (鄭國南) remarked, “This visit serves as an advance inspection for the upcoming visit by Taiwanese Taoist organizations to Daesoon Jinrihoe in September. With Daesoon Jinrihoe’s warm welcome and exceptional hospitality, I believe the forthcoming event will be carried out successfully,” expressing his gratitude.

- Daesoon Jinrihoe Welfare Foundation Holds the 4th “2024 Happiness of Sponsorship and Sharing” Grand Bazaar
On May 6, the Daesoon Jinrihoe Welfare Foundation hosted the “4th 2024 Happiness of Sponsorship and Sharing Grand Bazaar” in the front yard of the Daejin Youth Training Center. At the event, Chairperson Yoon Eundo of the Daesoon Jinrihoe Welfare Foundation delivered a welcome address, saying, “As this is the first bazaar to be held since the end of the pandemic, the attendance of many distinguished guests has made the occasion shine even brighter.” This was followed by congratulatory remarks from Mayor Lee Chung-woo of Yeoju City: “Thanks to Daesoon Jinrihoe, which always steps forward whenever challenges arise, all affairs in Yeoju move vibrantly. We will continue striving to ensure that Daesoon Jinrihoe and the citizens of Yeoju live in closer mutual support.” At this bazaar, a wide variety of foods—such as mukbap (acorn jelly with rice), party noodles (banquet noodles), and tteokbokki—as well as clothing, bedding, accessories, and saplings were sold at affordable prices. The schedule was densely planned, featuring nonstop performances including a Nanta percussion show, saxophone music, K‑pop dance, and a staff performance by the Welfare Foundation, allowing participants to enjoy a full day without a moment’s rest. Jeong Jae-woo, Head of Administration at the Daesoon Jinrihoe Welfare Foundation, who was responsible for organizing the bazaar, expressed gratitude, saying, “Despite the inclement weather, so many people took part that we even ran short of chairs and tents,” and added, “Next time, we will prepare with even greater care so that the event can be more ample and accommodating.” He extended his thanks to the citizens of Yeoju and the Dao practitioners who participated in the bazaar.

- Bundang Jaesaeng General Hospital Introduced as an Outstanding Medical Institution at the Kazakhstan International Medical Tourism Fair
Gyeonggi Province participated in the Kazakhstan International Tourism Fair (KITF)—the largest medical tourism and healthcare industry exhibition in Central Asia—held at the Atakent Exhibition Center in Almaty, Kazakhstan, from April 24 to 26. Under the theme “Medical Treatment in Korea,” Gyeonggi Province operated a promotional booth to showcase the excellence of medical institutions within the region. During this event, 11 medical institutions from Gyeonggi Province, including Bundang Jaesaeng General Hospital, were introduced, resulting in productive consultations between hospitals and agencies as well as the signing of several Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs). Bundang Jaesaeng General Hospital has been attracting international patients since opening its International Healthcare Center in 2012. Today, more than 1,700 foreign patients visit the hospital each year, placing it among the top-performing medical institutions in Gyeonggi Province.
